Mac’s Last Stand

Sorry that I haven’t posted on the blog in a couple of days. I just bought a new computer that I have been messing around with. After about 10 years as a Mac user I’ve finally decided to make the jump and buy a PC.

I’m not here to rant about the reasons why I decided to finally switch. It’s best to just say that Mac was given more than a fair chance to retain my business. Their shortcomings are no longer of my concern. However, I did find time to stick my head into the Mac store again on my way out of the mall to announce my new allegiance. Some people might say that I went a little bit overboard by humping the box of my new monitor in the entrance to the Mac store. Point taken, now let’s move on.

This computer appears to be the real deal. For about the same price as the standard Mac desktop, I got a quad-core processor with 6GB of RAM and 600GB on the hard drive. Also a 22″ monitor to go with it.

I did have to go with a low-end video card, but that’s not something I had much interest in to begin with. I’d rather have the ability to do 36 different things at the same time.

Here’s a snap shot of my new set-up from my camera phone. I think that stuff looks nice next to my TV from 1989.
