Doyle’s Room to Join Cake Network
Cake poker continues to expand.
Doyle’s Room is set to join the Cake network and leave the Microgaming Network. Cake has been doing all it can to become a strong competitor in the online poker world, especially in the US market. They are a US friendly site, and have been striving to take a portion of the PokerStars and Full Tilt market away. They have made huge gains, reporting huge gains in % of players that use the site, yet still the online poker world sees PokerStars and Full Tilt as the two top dogs.
However, with the numerous scandals going on with Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker, Cake has taken the most of the opportunity and continued to slowly but steadily increase their guaranteed tournaments and the traffic has followed.
Doyle’s Room cites the main reason for this move is due to the fact that Microgaming restricted the access to US players. By joining the Cake network, it once more can open up to United States residents.
What does this mean for those of us who use Cake Poker?
Quite simply, I am licking my lips. Doyle’s Room in my mind means a wave of new, inexperienced players that are about to be released into the Cake pond for us to catch. More traffic on Cake can only be a good thing, and bringing in Doyle’s Room players likely means a whole lot of players who only signed up because they saw an ad in the cover of Super System 2.
Cake users rejoice: One of the softest sites may have just gotten softer.
What does this mean for Doyle’s Room users?
For one, the Cake network is a superior network and offers a fair game policy restricting any 3rd party software while playing. Also, the volume of players is much greater.
This move so far appears to be a win-win for both Cake and Doyle’s Room users.
